Follow these steps to link your Phone number up with your National Identification Number (NIN).
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) had given directives to all telecommunications service providers operating in Nigeria to block all SIM cards that are not registered with the National Identity Numbers (NIN) within 2 weeks.
What this means to subscribers is that they will lose their SIMS if they fail to comply by linking their phone numbers with NIN. Phone numbers that are not linked to subscribers’ National Identity Number before December 31, 2020, will be blocked/disconnected.
However, there’s been a bitter outcry against it by the members of the public due to the short time frame given to users to pull through the excersise.
The Nigerian Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has further affirmed that subscribers can link their many SIM cards to their NIN database, they can do this by visiting the nearest office of their service providers.
